Just spent a wonderful weekend at West Dean learning from Emily Ball how to get the most out of  acrylics.  Focus was on mixing the exact shade of paint and adding different mediums to aid flow.  Having always struggled a bit with acrylics – they never seem to have the depth and richness of oils or the fluidity of watercolours – I am now encouraged to persevere a bit with them.  This painting was looking at a ‘slice’ from a still life and concentrating on colour and direction.
