Frieze

Just spent a very interesting, if slightly bemusing, day at Frieze in London.  I loved South African artist Penny Siopis’s vibrant glue and ink canvasses;  Sam Gillian’s large expressive watercolour on rice paper;  the amazing white room;  de Waal’s porcelain; Verhoeven’s surreal political work on gender and toilet attendants.  But there were many many works that left me completely baffled and thinking about emperors and new clothes.
